Construction Clean Ups

Light Demolition & Removal in North East Adelaide

Sheds, cubbies, carports, pergolas, fencing and old water tanks dismantled and taken away.

5.0 out of 5 stars from 17 Google reviews (opens in a new tab)

That old shed or rotting cubby has to go before the new one goes up. We pull it down, load it out and leave the ground clear and ready.

What counts as light demolition?

Non-structural, small structures that can be safely taken apart by hand and with basic tools. We don’t demolish houses, load-bearing walls or anything requiring engineering sign-off.

Older sheds, fences and eaves can contain asbestos cement sheeting. If your structure was built before 1990 and has fibro-style sheeting, get it tested first — asbestos must be removed by a licensed removalist.

Typical light demolition jobs

Old garden sheds that are rusted through or leaning. Cubby houses and sandpits the kids have outgrown. Timber pergolas and carports that have seen better days. Rows of old galvanised rainwater tanks and their stands — one customer had two removed from her backyard. Rotting timber fences, decking and garden edging that needs replacing.

In every case, the result is the same: the structure is gone, every piece is taken away and the ground is ready for what comes next — a new shed, a garden bed, lawn or a slab.

Ready for what comes next

Tell us what you’re planning to put in the space — a new shed, a garden, lawn or a slab — and we’ll leave the area suited to it. That might mean removing old pavers and edging, raking the ground level or clearing back weeds and roots, so your next project starts on a clean slate.

Local Know-How

Light Demolition in Adelaide: what to know

South Australia has its own rules for what can go to landfill and what has to be recycled. Here’s what matters for this kind of job.

Asbestos needs a licensed removalist

In South Australia, a licence is required to remove more than 10 square metres of bonded (non-friable) asbestos, friable asbestos always needs a licensed removalist, and a licensed removalist is recommended for any amount. Homes, sheds and fences built before 1990 can contain asbestos cement sheeting — have it tested before demolition. We don’t remove asbestos, but we’ll clear everything else once it’s gone.

SA’s waste levy rewards recycling

Every tonne of rubbish landfilled in metropolitan Adelaide attracts the EPA’s solid waste levy — $171 a tonne in 2026–27, paid by the disposal site and passed on in tip fees. Sorting green waste, metal and cardboard out of a load keeps it out of landfill, which is better for the environment and helps keep your price down.

Council hard waste has limits

North-east councils offer free hard waste collections, but with caps: Tea Tree Gully gives two free at-call collections a year (hard waste or mattresses), while Salisbury and Playford households get two NAWMA services a year of up to 2 cubic metres. None of them take green waste or building materials — that’s where a private removal fills the gap.

We needed our shed demolished and removed. James did a great job, arrived on time as organised. Completed the task in a professional manner and didn’t waste any time. Left site very clean. Highly recommend this business, very reliable, professional and polite, i wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Price assessment: Great price

Paul C. Google review

James quickly accepted the task I posted which was to remove two rainwater tanks from my backyard. He was easy to deal with and did the job for me quickly and efficiently. James is polite, punctual and communicates well.

Anne R. Google review

Couldn’t fault this business at all. Came when they said they would, in fact early. Was polite and did everything he said he would for a fair price. Would definitely use again if the need arose and would recommend to anyone. Thanks again!

Our Process

How a light demolition job works

No guesswork and no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you get in touch to the moment we drive away.

  1. 01

    Show us the structure

Send photos of the shed, cubby, carport, fence or tanks, and tell us what it’s made of and roughly how big it is.

  2. 02

    Check for anything hazardous

If it’s an older structure with fibro-style sheeting, it may contain asbestos and needs testing first. We’ll tell you honestly if a job isn’t one we should take on.

  3. 03

Fixed price for demolition and removal

One price covers taking it down, loading every piece and leaving the area clear — no separate charge for the clean-up.

  4. 04

    Safe dismantling

Structures are taken apart in a controlled way, by hand and with the right tools, so nothing falls onto fences, plants or neighbouring property.

  5. 05

    Clear and level

Timber, sheeting, frames and fixings are removed, the ground raked over and loose screws and nails picked up so the area is safe to walk on.

  6. 06

    Materials recycled

Steel framing and sheeting go to metal recycling; timber and other materials are disposed of at licensed facilities.

Transparent Pricing

Upfront prices, explained

Light demolition is priced on the size of the structure, what it’s made of and how it’s fixed down. A small garden shed on pavers is a quick job; a carport with concreted posts or a row of steel water tanks takes more time and produces more material to remove.

The fixed price includes dismantling, loading, transport, disposal and the final clean-up. If concrete slabs or footings need breaking up and removing, we quote that separately and clearly, so you can decide.

After his shed demolition, Paul C. rated our pricing “Great price” on Google — and that’s the aim on every job: fair, upfront and no surprises.

What affects the price

  • Size and material of the structure
  • Concreted posts, footings or slabs
  • Access for removing materials
  • Volume of material to dispose of

How We Work

Professional on every job

Demolition, even small-scale, needs care. We work methodically, keep children and pets clear of the work area and make sure nothing is left unstable partway through the job.

We only take on non-structural, small structures. Anything attached to the house, load-bearing or likely to need engineering or council approval is outside what we do, and we’ll say so straight away.

  • Honest assessment before quoting
  • Controlled dismantling, no shortcuts
  • Nails, screws and debris picked up
  • Metals recycled
  • Suspect asbestos left for licensed removalists

FAQ

Light Demolition FAQs

Can't see your question? Send us the job details and we'll get back to you.

Can you remove an old water tank?

Yes — we’ve removed rows of old galvanised tanks and stands. Have the plumbing disconnected first, or ask us about it.

Do you need council approval to demolish a shed?

Removing a small garden shed generally doesn’t need approval, but check with your council if the structure is large, attached to the house or heritage-listed.

Can you remove concrete slabs under a shed?

Small slabs and pavers, often yes — they’re heavy, so they’re quoted separately. Larger slabs may need a different contractor, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case.

Do you remove old fences?

Yes, timber and colorbond fencing. If it’s a shared boundary fence, make sure your neighbour is on board first.

What happens if you find asbestos?

We stop work on that part, leave it undisturbed and let you know. It will need to be tested and, if confirmed, removed by a licensed removalist.
