Furniture & Mattress Removal in North East Adelaide

Couches, mattresses, beds, tables and bulky furniture carried out and taken away — single items welcome.

5.0 out of 5 stars from 17 Google reviews (opens in a new tab)

Bought a new lounge and need the old one gone? Cleaning out a spare room? We’ll carry it out and take it away — no need to wait for council hard rubbish day.

We bring the muscle and the trailer. You don’t need to drag anything to the kerb.

Faster than waiting for hard rubbish

Council hard waste collections are handy, but you may have to book weeks ahead, there are limits on what and how much they take, and items have to sit on the kerb. We collect from inside your home, usually within days.

Furniture that’s still in good condition can be set aside for donation rather than landfill — just let us know.

When people call us for furniture removal

Most furniture jobs start with something new arriving — a lounge suite, a bed, a dining setting — and the old one needing to go before or on delivery day. Others come from moving house, downsizing into a unit, clearing a spare room for a new baby, or emptying a rental between tenants.

Whatever the reason, the job is the same for you: tell us what’s going, agree the price and point at the pieces on the day. We carry them out, load them and leave the room ready for whatever comes next — no hiring a ute, no asking friends to help lift, and no couch sitting on the verge for weeks waiting for a council collection.

Local Know-How

Furniture Removal in Adelaide: what to know

South Australia has its own rules for what can go to landfill and what has to be recycled. Here’s what matters for this kind of job.

Council hard waste has limits

North-east councils offer free hard waste collections, but with caps: Tea Tree Gully gives two free at-call collections a year (hard waste or mattresses), while Salisbury and Playford households get two NAWMA services a year of up to 2 cubic metres. None of them take green waste or building materials — that’s where a private removal fills the gap.

SA’s waste levy rewards recycling

Every tonne of rubbish landfilled in metropolitan Adelaide attracts the EPA’s solid waste levy — $171 a tonne in 2026–27, paid by the disposal site and passed on in tip fees. Sorting green waste, metal and cardboard out of a load keeps it out of landfill, which is better for the environment and helps keep your price down.

E-waste can’t go to landfill in SA

Since 1 September 2013, whitegoods, TVs, computers, fluorescent lighting and other e-waste such as vacuum cleaners and power tools have been banned from direct disposal to landfill in South Australia. Appliances and electronics we remove are separated and sent for recycling, and householders can drop TVs and computers off free at NAWMA’s Resource Recovery Centres.

James came to take some old, broken furniture for me. He took them apart for me and took it out so quickly I didn’t even realise they’d taken everything!

We needed our shed demolished and removed. James did a great job, arrived on time as organised. Completed the task in a professional manner and didn’t waste any time. Left site very clean. Highly recommend this business, very reliable, professional and polite, i wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Our Process

How a furniture removal job works

No guesswork and no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you get in touch to the moment we drive away.

  1. 01

    List the items

Tell us what’s going — say, a three-seater couch, a queen mattress and a wardrobe — and where they are in the house. A quick photo of each helps.

  2. 02

    Fixed price per job

We give you one clear price for all the items, including carrying them out. No per-flight-of-stairs surcharges sprung on you at the door.

  3. 03

    Protect the path out

On arrival we check the route — doorways, corners, stairs — and take care around walls, frames and flooring as we move things through.

  4. 04

    Dismantle where needed

Bed frames, wardrobes and some couches come apart for a cleaner exit. One customer was surprised we’d taken it apart and gone before they noticed — that’s the goal.

  5. 05

    Load and leave it tidy

Items are loaded onto the trailer and any dust or debris left behind where the furniture stood is cleaned up.

  6. 06

    Reuse, recycle or dispose

Good-condition pieces can be set aside for donation if you ask. Mattresses go to mattress recycling where available, and metal frames to scrap recyclers.

Transparent Pricing

Upfront prices, explained

Furniture removal is priced on the number and size of items, plus anything that makes the carry harder, like a second-storey unit with no lift. Because you tell us the items upfront, the price is set before we arrive.

Mattresses and bed bases have their own disposal fees at recycling facilities, and those are included in the quote. You won’t see a separate “mattress levy” added later.

If you decide on the day to add a few more pieces, we’ll tell you the extra cost on the spot before loading them.

What affects the price

  • Number and size of items
  • Mattresses and ensembles (recycling fees apply)
  • Stairs, lifts or long carries
  • Items that need dismantling first

Pay by card, cash, bank transfer or Afterpay. Every job comes with a tax invoice.

How We Work

Professional on every job

Moving big furniture through a home is where damage happens, so we take it slowly at the tight spots. If something won’t fit out the way it came in, we dismantle it rather than force it.

We’re respectful in your home — boots wiped, no rushing, and we work around kids, pets and anyone working from home. If you’re not there, we’ll coordinate access with whoever is: a neighbour, property manager or agent.

  • Care around walls, frames and floors
  • Dismantling done on site
  • Donation-worthy items set aside on request
  • Space cleaned where items stood
  • One clear price for the lot

FAQ

Furniture Removal FAQs

Can't see your question? Send us the job details and we'll get back to you.

Will you take a single mattress?

Yes. No job is too small.

Can you carry furniture down stairs?

Yes. We remove items from inside the home, upstairs units and balconies.

Do I need to dismantle anything?

No. We’ll dismantle large items like bed frames or wardrobes if that’s what it takes to get them out.

Do you donate furniture that’s still usable?

If items are in good condition and you’d like them donated, tell us and we’ll keep them separate. Charities can be selective, so damaged or stained items go to recycling or disposal.

Can you take a sofa bed or recliner with a mechanism?

Yes. They’re heavy and awkward, so we may dismantle them, but they’re no problem.

Can you collect from a unit or apartment?

Yes. Let us know the floor, whether there’s a lift and any building rules about moving times, and we’ll plan around them.
