Waste Removal

Appliance & Whitegoods Removal in North East Adelaide

Fridges, washers, dryers, ovens and other whitegoods removed and taken for recycling.

5.0 out of 5 stars from 17 Google reviews (opens in a new tab)

Whitegoods are heavy, awkward and won’t fit in your car. We’ll get them out of the laundry, kitchen or garage and take them away.

Recycled for metal

Most appliances are largely steel. We take them to metal recyclers so the materials get reused.

Upgrading, renovating or moving?

Most appliance removals happen at a change point. A new fridge is being delivered and the old one has to go. The kitchen is being renovated and the oven, cooktop and dishwasher are coming out. A rental is being cleared and the tenant has left a broken washing machine behind. Or a move is coming up and the old dryer isn’t worth taking.

Retailers don’t always take old appliances away, and when they do there’s often a fee and a strict condition that it’s unplugged and waiting at the door. We collect from wherever the appliance is — laundry, kitchen, garage or back shed — at a time that suits you, and we can take other household junk in the same trip.

Why appliances shouldn’t go to landfill

Whitegoods are mostly steel, copper and aluminium, all of which can be recycled. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners also contain refrigerant gases that shouldn’t be released. Taking them to proper recyclers keeps useful metals in circulation and keeps harmful gases out of the atmosphere — and it’s part of the job, not an optional extra.

Single items or a full kitchen

We’re happy to collect just one old fridge. But if you’re replacing several appliances, clearing a deceased estate or emptying a rental, we can take the whitegoods along with furniture, boxes and general rubbish in the same visit — one booking, one price and one invoice.

Local Know-How

Appliance Removal in Adelaide: what to know

South Australia has its own rules for what can go to landfill and what has to be recycled. Here’s what matters for this kind of job.

E-waste can’t go to landfill in SA

Since 1 September 2013, whitegoods, TVs, computers, fluorescent lighting and other e-waste such as vacuum cleaners and power tools have been banned from direct disposal to landfill in South Australia. Appliances and electronics we remove are separated and sent for recycling, and householders can drop TVs and computers off free at NAWMA’s Resource Recovery Centres.

SA’s waste levy rewards recycling

Every tonne of rubbish landfilled in metropolitan Adelaide attracts the EPA’s solid waste levy — $171 a tonne in 2026–27, paid by the disposal site and passed on in tip fees. Sorting green waste, metal and cardboard out of a load keeps it out of landfill, which is better for the environment and helps keep your price down.

Council hard waste has limits

North-east councils offer free hard waste collections, but with caps: Tea Tree Gully gives two free at-call collections a year (hard waste or mattresses), while Salisbury and Playford households get two NAWMA services a year of up to 2 cubic metres. None of them take green waste or building materials — that’s where a private removal fills the gap.

Our Process

How a appliance removal job works

No guesswork and no surprises. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you get in touch to the moment we drive away.

  1. 01

Tell us the appliance and where it is

Fridge in the kitchen, washing machine in the laundry, old dryer in the garage — let us know what it is and roughly how big. A photo helps us bring the right gear.

  2. 02

    Clear, upfront price

We quote a fixed price that covers removal and recycling. If you’ve got several appliances, they’re priced together in one quote.

  3. 03

    Check it’s ready to go

Plumbed-in or hard-wired appliances need to be disconnected first. If you’re not sure, ask when you book — we’ll tell you what needs doing before we arrive.

  4. 04

    Careful removal

Heavy appliances are moved with trolleys and straps, taking care around benchtops, doorways and floors on the way out.

  5. 05

    Clean behind and under

The dust and debris that collects behind a fridge or under a washer gets swept up, so the space is ready for the new one.

  6. 06

    Sent for recycling

Appliances go to metal recyclers. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners contain refrigerant gas, so they go to recyclers set up to handle them properly.

Transparent Pricing

Upfront prices, explained

Appliance removal is priced per item, with larger and heavier units — double-door fridges, chest freezers, front loaders — costing more to move than a microwave or bar fridge.

The quote includes moving it out of the house, transport and the recycling or disposal fees. If the appliance is upstairs or needs to come through a tight space, we factor that in upfront so the price doesn’t move on the day.

Replacing several appliances at once — say, during a kitchen renovation or before a move — is good value, because the trip and labour are shared across items.

What affects the price

  • Size and weight of each appliance
  • Number of appliances
  • Stairs or difficult access
  • Units containing refrigerant gas (fridges, freezers, air conditioners)

Pay by card, cash, bank transfer or Afterpay. Every job comes with a tax invoice.

How We Work

Professional on every job

Heavy appliances can easily scratch floors and chip benchtops. We use the right equipment, protect surfaces as we go, and never drag a fridge across a timber floor.

We won’t take on anything unsafe — such as disconnecting gas appliances ourselves. Where something needs a licensed tradesperson first, we’ll tell you straight rather than cut corners.

  • Trolleys and straps, not dragging
  • Floors and benchtops protected
  • Space behind cleaned up
  • Recycled for metal, gas handled properly
  • Honest advice on what needs a licensed trade

FAQ

Appliance Removal FAQs

Can't see your question? Send us the job details and we'll get back to you.

Do I need to disconnect the appliance?

Please have plumbed-in or hard-wired appliances disconnected first. Plug-in appliances we can unplug and remove.

Can you take a BBQ?

Yes, as long as the gas bottle is removed — we can’t transport gas bottles.

Will you take a fridge that still has food in it?

Please empty fridges and freezers before we arrive. Food waste can’t go to metal recycling, and leaking fridges make a mess of carpets and trailers.

Can you remove an old hot water system?

Once it has been disconnected and drained by a licensed plumber, yes — we can take it away for metal recycling.

Do you take TVs and computers?

Yes, e-waste is separated and taken for e-waste recycling rather than going to landfill.
